Tuner Monster
This monster are used to synchro summon synchro monster. When the total Level of the Tuner monster and the other monsters on your side of the field matches the Synchro monster's Level, by sending them to the Graveyard, you can Summon the Synchro Monster.
Synchro Monster
Synchro Monsters require Tuner Monsters to be face-up on your Field. When the total Level of the Tuner monster and any other face-up monsters on your Field exactly matches the Level of the Synchro Monster you wish to Summon (no more or less); by sending them to the Graveyard, you can "Synchro Summon" the Synchro monster. Some Synchro Monsters require a specific "Tuner Monster" in order to be Synchro Summoned (such as "Junk Synchron" for "Junk Warrior") or monsters of a particular Type or Attribute as Material Monsters, but many do not, so they can be in just about any Extra Deck.

Monster Tokens
Token Monsters are used as representations of Monster Cards. These monsters are not included in the Main Deck. Token Monster can be specially summoned by several cards effect like "scapegoat"
Effect Monster Cards
Effect Monster Card are Monster with special ability( you can name it effect). Effect Monster are color coded Orange. Effects are divided into types:
1. Flip: The Monster's effect active when the card is flipped from face-down to face up. The effects is also activated if flipped to face up as result of a Magic or Trap Card, or Monster attack.
2. Continous Effect : As long as this Monster Card is face-up on the field, the effect remain active. when the Monster is turned face-down, its effect no longer active.
3. Cost Effect: your must this card a card or pay life point as a costs to active the effect.Be sure to read the instructions printed on each card.
4. Trigger Effect : Trigger Monster Effects activate whenever a certain condition on the field, the nature of play, or the progress of the turn, is met.
5. Optional Trigger Effects: are effects that don't happen automatically when the trigger condition is fulfilled, the controlling player decides whether to activate it or not. With Optional Trigger Effects it is possible to Miss the Timing
6. Compulsory Trigger Effects: are effects that must resolve, and are not Optional.
7. Quick Effects (previously known as Multi-Trigger effects) : can be activated either during your turn, or your opponent's turn. They are the only Monster Effects that are Spell Speed 2.
Monsters that have quick effects usually have: "This effect can be activated during either player's turn", or something similar in its card text. Also, there are some exceptions of monsters with quick effects which don't read such effect in their lore (like "Horus the Black Flame Dragon lv 8").

Ritual Monster Card is a special monster that can be summoned onto the field only when you have designated Ritual Magic Card and the Monster Card(s) in your hand or field as a costs for summon the Ritual Monster to fulfill the conditions described on Ritual Magic Card.
Ritual Monster Cards are color coded BlueRitual Monster Cards are included in the Deck, they are counted in the 40 card minimum limit of the Deck.
GamePlay Rules for Ritual Monster Card
During your turn if you have following cards you can set out ritual summon:
- Ritual Monster Card(according to the Ritual Magic Card) in your hand
- Ritual Magic Card in your hand
- Monster Card(s)(as costs) either on your field or in your hand
Following action for ritual summon:
1. Activate the Ritual Magic Card
2. Tribute Monster Card(s) either from the field or from Your hand.
3. Place the Ritual Monster in face-up position either Attack or Defense Position
Note:
- The Tributed Monsters and the Ritual Magic Card used to perform Ritual Summon are Destroyed
- Ritual Summon can be treated as Special Summon, after perform Ritual Summon you are allowed to conduct a Normal Summon or Set in the same turn.

"Fusion" means using 2 or more monster cards together with magic card "polymerization" to create a Fusion Monster.
Each Fusion Monster Cards also lists the monster necessary to create it(Fusion Material Monster).
The color code for Fusion Monster is Violet.

During your turn if you have polymerization, Fusion Monster Card(in your fusion deck), and Fusion Material Monster to create the Fusion Monster, and activate it to Fusion Summon the Fusion Monster( Fusion summon is treated as Special Summon) in face up position.
When a Fusion Monster Card is in Graveyard , if the Fusion Monster Card return to your hand , place it back in Fusion Deck Zone.

Three main card types are used in Yu-Gi-Oh! Monster Cards, Magic Cards, and Trap Cards.
Monster Cards
A Monster Card is the basic card used to attack your opponent. Monster Cards are categorized by Type and Attribute. There are 20 different Types and 6 different Attributes. Type and Attribute effect each monster's ability to attack and defend.
The overall strength of a monster is indicated by its level (the number of stars at the upper right of the Monster card). A monster card is color-coded YELLOW

Once all 5 Monster Card Zone occupied, no further Monster Cards can be played or set until there is open Monster Card space in the Monster Card Zone
- Fusion Deck Zone : If you are playing with Fusion Monster Cards, put your Fusion Deck face down in this space.
- Graveyard : When cards are destroyed , they discarded face up on this space. The contents of the Graveyard are public knowledge, and your opponent can look trough it at any time.
- Magic & Trap Card Zone : Magic and Trap Cards can be played(face up) or set(face down) to the 5 spaces of the Magic & Trap Card Zone following the rules
- Deck Zone : Place your Deck face down in this place. Your Side Deck is not placed on the Game Mat.
You can also play Yu-Gi-Oh! Without a Game Mat. Just be sure to place the cards and Decks in the indicated position. Good Luck ^-^
